The new USGA Conforming Type E features several design and style enhancements on the top selling TaylorMade R9 MAX Driver launched earlier this year. Customers gave TM Japan feedback that for the common golf player, the CG was too much with the heel and the over-all weight of the club was too big which often averted average swingers from getting length.
The Type E moves the CG more in line with the center of the face and much deeper and lower. The general golf club is pulled back and the face not so deep with a bigger sweet area. TM has removed the MWT weight within the back for a fixed weight to provide the best CG. The newest Type E with its CG placement and shallower face was established to spin less than the previous R9 Max.
